Come up with a idea

 Today I came up with a film idea Using a few sentences to describe each, give some thought to "the four P's" for your film opening

People:

-Enrique, our main protagonist, a high school senior. He is levelheaded unlike his friend Michael. He faces confrontation very confidently and has good sense of morality. He often keeps Michael out of trouble and constantly makes attempts to convince Michael to change his ways, but Michael always fails to listen. He is Michael's childhood best friend.

Michael, our second main protagonist, high school senior (before he dies). Michael constantly finds himself in trouble and only has Enrique to guide him in life. He makes irrational decisions and has had problems in the past regarding money but fortunately, has had Enrique to intervene

Despite being Enrique's polar opposite, him and Michael still remain good friends.

Place:

-The scene takes place in Enrique and Michaels childhood neighborhood at night (around 9:45pm so it's fairly dark).

Plot:

Michael owes this drug dealer money, he was unable to pay it in time so unfortunately for him he paid the price of death however, this leads to an issue for Enrique as not only is the drug dealer after him for the rest of the money, his morality is also tested as he has to do any means possible of obtaining that money to ensure he doesn't end up like Michael.

2. Come up with an opening image or scenario.

Then play the "What If" game and see if you can spin your simple image into a scenario (Don't worry if you have trouble with this. It's just an exercise!)

-What if, Michael did not tell Enrique that he was in serious trouble. What if, Enrique was clueless that it would be the last time he would see his best friend on that night. What if, the man Michael owed money too was fed up with the constant "I'll pay you another time". What if, Enrique couldn't cover this final due, and it costed Michael his life.

3. Write a "treatment" for your film opening. This means you basically write out what happens in your film opening as if it were a short story. This means you write in paragraphs and dialogue is written using quote marks, the same way books are written.

"Bru it's fine I got it, besides you don't need school smarts, street smarts is all you need in life. My pops always says, "a mans education takes them as far as the road down the street" said Michael. "what does that even mean?" Said Enrique dumbfounded. "It means-" Michael's speech was abrupted by a car coming down the street playing loud music. As the car rolled up to the two, the music lowered and an older sounding man spoke,

"It's been 3 weeks Michael, when are you gonna cough up the cash?". "Can you just chill? I got it right now just give me a sec..." Michael said in a somewhat nervous voice. "You can spot me 5000?" Michael whispered to Enrique. "I don't have that kind of money on me!" Enrique whispered frantically. Michael replies to the man,

"I can get you next week? Check come in by then so I should have it." "Alright bet" the man said in a stern voice, he then drives off. Both Enrique and Michael sigh out of relief, but Enrique soon dumbfounded. "It means-" Michael's speech was abrupted by a car coming down the street playing loud music. As the car rolled up to the two, the music lowered and an older sounding man spoke, "It's been 3 weeks Michael, when are you gonna cough up the cash?". "Can you just chill?
